Wylie Agency and Amazon

ABC News this morning posted a story about the Wylie Agency (an international literary agency with offices in London and New York) developing a plan to sell e-book classics exclusively through Amazon.com. This, without permission of the publishers who hold the rights of the traditionally published editions, and without input from the writers or their estates.

This was all learned through an e-mail from the Authors Guild, sent to its members..

A followup e-mail from the Authors Guild commented further.

Is this good for publishing? Is it good for writers?

Read the article and the e-mails, and discuss it here in the comments section of this post.

  1. I just attended a writers conference in Vermont where we discussed issues like this. Difficult topics.
